Eight Women Graduate from Sea View Farm Sewing Project

Eight women graduated from the Sea View Farm Sewing Project during a ceremony held on Wednesday 18 February, marking another milestone in a community empowerment initiative led by the Rotary Club of Antigua.

The graduates were awarded certificates upon successful completion of the programme, which provides hands-on sewing training while fostering discipline, creativity, and self-reliance. The initiative is designed to support entrepreneurship, employment, and long-term personal development.

In her address, President Elisa Graham emphasized that the sewing project reflects Rotary’s commitment to empowering individuals through opportunity, skills development, and service, noting its importance in strengthening families, communities, and national development.

Project Coordinator and Past President Cordel Josiah spoke to the history and reach of the initiative, highlighting that the project has benefited over 600 individuals since its inception. He underscored the role of skills-based training in economic development, explaining that initiatives such as the sewing project contribute to income generation, entrepreneurship, and a stronger overall economic outlook for the country.
