The Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank (ECAB) donated more than 70 books to Urlings Primary School on January 7, 2026, as part of its commitment to promoting financial literacy among young students.

The donation included 73 copies of Aunty Honey’s Money: Introducing Children to Money Featuring the Eastern Caribbean Currency, a children’s book by Antiguan author S. Latoya Weste. The book presents key financial concepts in an engaging and educational format designed for young learners.

ECAB’s Marketing and Communications Officer, Jessica Russell, highlighted the importance of early financial education.

She said, “Financial literacy is incredibly important, and it’s best that children are educated about it early so they can avoid financial missteps later in life.”

Grade two teachers, Rashelle Aaron-Clarke and Lashawn Williams-Francis received the donation on behalf of the school and expressed appreciation to ECAB for its support.

Students from kindergarten to grade four will receive copies of the book. The donation provides a two-fold benefit by educating young students about financial management while also supporting local literary talent.
