Dr George Mansoor: ‘Our work is difficult and risky yet we plod on’

4

For many in the health professions, we have given our time and our vocation freely and genuinely for decades before the pandemic.

The vast majority give 100%. Now in the pandemic we give 200%.

Our work is difficult and risky yet we plod on.

We risk our own family’s health. We know our patients’ lives matter and they have family and friends.

We treat equally with or without vax.

So, why are persons on the radio trying to demonize health care workers and label us this and that.

We do our best every day even when our own family is sick or we are nor 100%. We still give all.

Trying to pull us into your battle will not work. Our work is sacred.

I ask you to share this so persons know you appreciate all members of the health care team.

Orderlies, techs, maintenance, laundry, nurses , doctors and many others.

  1. Thanks Dr and other medical professionals for the yeomen service you guys provide. It is you who reminded the PM (a few Saturdays ago via point pm)that vaccine mandates are needed because the testing route calls for resources we don’t have available. Unfortunately, when it comes to decisions like vaccines, mandates are needed. Its human nature to put things off hence government has to step in especially when that decision could negatively impact others. Just like our medical professionals we too need to see this as a war against a highly infectious disease, and do our part to help win the war (Get vaccinated and encourage others to do same).

  2. “The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” Isaac Asimov.
