Dominicans living in Antigua and Barbuda are preparing to support the ruling Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party in the upcoming general election, according to community advocate Alex Martinez.

Mr Martinez said there was growing support within the Dominican diaspora for the party, citing its record on economic development, stability and opportunities for Caribbean nationals.

“Dominicans with Labour are ready,” he said, adding that many believe the current administration has created an environment where regional migrants can live and work productively.

He said members of the community had been mobilising quietly, encouraging eligible voters to take part in the electoral process.

The backing comes as political activity intensifies, with Prime Minister Gaston Browne indicating that elections are due within 90 days.

Mr Martinez said the support reflected a desire for continued progress and regional unity.

“This is about supporting stability and a future that benefits everyone living here,” he added.
