Dominica Police Probe Apparent Suicide of Castle Comfort Man
Dominica’s Criminal Investigations Department is investigating the suspected suicide of 56-year-old Gifford Irish, who was discovered hanging at his Castle Comfort home early Sunday.
His wife, Zarina Irish, found him around 6:45 AM and attempted CPR, but efforts by emergency responders were unsuccessful. A doctor later confirmed his death at 9:22 AM.
Authorities processed the scene, and the body was sent to Lyndhurst Funeral Home for an autopsy.

Don’t know what his situation was or how any of this happened but prayers to his friends and family. Never easy to see a loved one die but something like this is especially horrid. My deepest condolences to all who knew this fellow.
The experts say that suicide is a permanent solution to a short term problem. Others say it’s cowardly and selfish. Regardless of what it is, there maybe a wife and children who will be traumatised and need expert counselling and and assistance to survive this trauma. Hopefully, community church and social workers will embrace them and assist them to get through this ordeal.
Cases like these are always so difficult to process. Depression is real and the chemical imbalance of the brain can cause some to take drastic measures that the normal person would never understand.
I pray for his family friends at this challenging period.
RIP my friend, only u know the heavy burdens and what u were going through.
