St Martin Primary’s Amelia Stephen Tops 2025 Grade 6 National Assessment

Twelve-year-old Amelia Stephen of St Martin Primary School has emerged as the top performer in Dominica’s 2025 Grade 6 National Assessment Examinations.

The results were officially announced on Friday by Education Minister Octavia Alfred during a national awards ceremony.

Rounding out the top five were Peyton Hilarie of Petite Savanne Primary in second place, Casnaya Casimir of Newton Primary in third, Kinaya Riviere of St John Primary in fourth, and Eliana Giraudel, also of St Martin Primary, in fifth.

This year, 750 students—373 girls and 377 boys—sat the national exams across 58 centres island-wide.

The Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence confirmed that 86 scholarships and 108 bursaries were awarded. Each scholarship recipient will receive $1,000 for textbooks and stationery, while bursary holders will receive $700.
