Link & Lime: A Professional Networking Mixer
February 16th, 2024 – Last night, with support from The British High Commission (St. John’s), The Directorate of Gender Affairs (DoGA) hosted Link & Lime: A Professional Networking Mixer.
As part of DoGA’s Emerging Female Leaders (EFL) Programme, Link & Lime supported the professional development of those in attendance, by affording an avenue for the cultivation of organic, professional connections, while also providing an opportunity to mix, mingle and learn from established, professional women.
Serving as professional mentors during the event were female activists, educators, business-women and women from the senate.
Programme Coordinator Mrs. T’Chell Looby-Antonio expressed “It was a wonderful experience to see a group of inspirational women come together to learn from each other, while forming what I’m hopeful can be a solid foundation for sustainable connections for professional development.”
Through action learning techniques, interconnectedness, and philosophical leadership development activities, the EFL programme aims to provide women and girls with opportunities for effective cognitive and behavioural growth, engaging learning activities and social capital development; while also addressing the barriers and the under-representation of women in leadership, whether politically, socially, or economically.
Mr. Jamie Saunders, Executive Director of The Directorate of Gender Affairs stated “The EFL Programme continues to seek innovative and impactful ways to ensure that young women are receiving consistent opportunities to expand and improve their professional prospects and to develop their leadership acumen and ability,”
Be sure to look out for more initiatives coming from DoGA this year.
