Antigua and Barbuda’s Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez has hailed DJ Khaled’s recent visit as a valuable boost for the island’s cultural and culinary promotion efforts.
The international music producer spent the weekend exploring local hotspots, including popular eateries Landing Strip and Perry Bay BBQ, sharing his experiences with millions of followers on social media.
“This visit is significant, especially during our culture-culinary month,” said Fernandez. “It’s a chance to showcase our food and encourage experiential tourism.”
DJ Khaled also attended Claudette Peters’ Kiddies Fete at the Antigua Recreation Grounds, engaging with the local entertainment scene.
Fernandez said celebrity visits help brand the destination. “He’s done a tremendous job promoting Antigua and Barbuda,” he added.

To citizens of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Brown said he will not help you develop a tourist crime advocacy and research endeavor to provide important services to US tourist who are victims of qualifying crimes when they visit Antigua and Barbuda or the Caribbean but DJ Khaled came and he is treated well with frees (I am not saying he should be treated well) but treated an Antiguan well too who did not want anything for free or did not qualify for. He asked for basic help of having the police department move faster with his application based on a deadline the US gave him to prove his endeavor is of national important, substantial merit and he was well-positioned to advance this idea (he has the tools and skills to do so). So he thought, let me ask ABLP for help getting the process to be completely in a reasonable time. PM Brown said, I can’t help you. Chet Green, does not respond to me. AG Benjamin, did nothing to help. ABLP, just do not care about Antiguans. Elections is coming again and St. Mary’s south will be my experiment to ensure everyone knows about experience with ABLP. They will know. They will be informed. Some money of mine will talk, even though I am using a lot of it paying for my mother’s cancer treatment and soon for my father’s medical treatment, all being done without any help from any ABLP officials. If these people and family do certain things on election day, I am done. Completely. I will never forget them blocking my goal of helping US victims of vicious and qualifying crimes while providing decent paying jobs to locals and international employees. Next election I will be working hard.
