Disturbing Trend of Dog Poisonings Continues Near Stadium

10

A distressing series of dog poisonings near the stadium has ignited community outrage and a call for urgent action.

Reports reveal that numerous dogs have been found dead in the area, raising suspicions of deliberate poisoning.

Concerned residents believe it might be linked to cow owners or evening walkers, but no definitive answers have surfaced.

One person commented: “so some low life has been poisoning a bunch of dogs up by the stadium including one very dear to me that I looked after, it’s a very sad sight several dogs laying dead around the stadium and it’s been a continual action over the last week.

My hunch is it’s either one of the cow owners in the area or possibly one of the many people that go walking around the stadium in the evenings either way there is absolutely no justification for these actions and something needs to be done.”

Despite appeals to authorities over time, the problem persists, prompting residents to demand justice for the innocent animals.

As images of the tragic scene circulate, citizens are rallying for accountability and resolution.

Pet lovers stress the need to collectively address this issue and put an end to these cruel and inhumane acts.

  1. You people who are doing that to those dogs. You are going to die and go to hell. The authorities need to install hidden cameras and catch those doing that to the animals.

  2. To much stray dogs allowing dogs to wonder all over if you want a dog keep it restrain on your property not wondering all over.

  3. What are those dogs doing in that area? If they were to attack any of the folks who exercise around the stadium and on the roads, who will be responsible? If you really love your dogs you would know where they are any given time.

  4. Antigua: you can do better! Think about all the tourists passing by the stadium, seeing all these dogs dead! Nice!!!! That’s horrible and if they don’t come back anymore, well, it’s a fair choice! Remember: “ The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” GANDHI

  5. This is sad indeed. I agree that the dogs should not be roaming the countryside, but whoever is poisoning them is the lowest of the low. I will say however that the individual who was feeding the stray dog should have took it home. I think they are equally as cruel for feeding stray dogs, but not offering them shelter. I hope that a better system can be put in place sometime in the near future so that we don’t have so many suffering animals in the country.

  6. There’s a b*tch who posted this on an Observer article about tourism. She was talking about what tourists would think if they visited the island. If she loved Antigua, she would not have done that. If you notice, it’s always people of a certain skin tone wanting to feign a level of moral superiority who are so big on animals who they love more than humans. Antigua has poor animal control not only for stray animals but even people who own pets sometimes don’t tie them or have proper fencing so the dogs become a threat and a nuisance to others. Poison dem, yes and mek Jamale Pringle have to pick them up.

  7. What if one of the many persons who walk there had got bitten by one? For all we know they already did and the person didn’t even waste time expecting justice…just took the matter into their own hands. Yes it’s unfortunate, but how many people live close to the stadium? These have to be strays and they would have to either stray a long way or have no owner. More likely the latter. How about rounding them up (especially if they have no identification) and either putting them in a pound (if we have one) or putting them down?

  8. I don’t play with stray dogs. Keep those animals on a leash! When they out and about causing havoc who is liable to pay. All now I have not been reimbursed when a stray dog bit my daughter 4 years ago. If the tourists love dogs so much why don’t they send money for them so that they can pay for the damage they cause.
