
Today, The Directorate of Gender Affairs and the Ministry of Social and Urban Transformation joined with the Ebenezer Methodist Church to worship, and to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism campaign.
Remarks were given by Senator, the Honorable Lamin Newton, on behalf of Minister of Social and Urban Transformation, The Honorable Rawdon Turner, as well as Executive Director of the Directorate of Gender Affairs, Mr. Jamie Saunders. They both emphasized the important role that the church and faith based orgsnistaions play in combatting Gender based violence nationally, and highlighted that the church instills critical moral, spiritual and ethical values in citizens, youth in particular, that can lead less violent and deviant behavior in general.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social and Urban Transformation, Ms. Sarah Stuart delivered a scripture reading during the service.
The sermon was presented by Brother Chris Matthews, whose message inspired hope and perseverance through dark and difficult times.
