Devon Byam has confessed to stealing a Kipling knapsack from the Baptist Academy of Antigua, leading to legal consequences.

On March 7, Byam entered the school grounds around 3:30 pm while students were engaged in soccer. He took an unattended bag containing textbooks valued at $1,715. The student noticed the bag missing upon returning from the field.

After reviewing security footage, school officials identified Byam as the thief. He was apprehended with some of the stolen items and admitted to discarding most of them, except for a bottle of perfume.

Byam was sentenced to pay $1,000 in compensation and received time served for his time in remand.

  1. Aweeee when people do good applaud them for that in the same mane we bash them when they are perceived to be wrong in their actions
    Commendation to you constable Nelson

  2. Nice way to try and mitigate the negative light cast on the police force by the recent elderly abuse by those three egotistical officers. While Officer Nelson does indeed deserve accolades, his counterparts also deserve to be stripped of their positions for obviously violating the high standards of the police department. That would send messages that respect is earned, citizens have rights, and that wearing the uniform does not mean that you are above the law. A police officer’s duty is to protect and serve the citizens of this nation..not abuse and demean us.
