Destination Dominica, Mas Domnik 2026 Showcased at Antigua Press Conference
The Discover Dominica Authority on Wednesday hosted the Destination Dominica & Mas Domnik 2026 press conference in Antigua, drawing members of the media, airline partners, cultural figures and the Dominican community to promote Dominica’s upcoming Carnival season.
The event highlighted Mas Domnik 2026, branded as “The Real Mas,” and underscored growing cultural and tourism ties between Antigua and Dominica.
Monelle Alexis opened the programme by positioning Dominica as a must-visit destination and outlining the vision behind Mas Domnik 2026. She was followed by Ogelly Moses, who shared key details about the Carnival celebrations and encouraged regional travelers not to miss the upcoming season.

Artists Steve “Ibis” Freeland and DJ Tenny also addressed the gathering, expressing enthusiasm about performing in Dominica and immersing themselves in the island’s cultural experience.
Cleo Foster Harris, deputy director of the Antigua Festivals Commission, welcomed the continued collaboration between Antigua and Dominica. She invited Dominicans to participate in Antigua Carnival while encouraging Antiguans to experience Dominica’s Carnival, which she described as an authentic cultural expression.
Airline partners announced special Carnival travel promotions during the event. Sunrise Airways is offering a 10 percent discount on flights booked through its mobile application, while LIAT Air announced a 20 percent discount on tickets to Dominica for the Carnival period.
Representatives of the Dominican community in Antigua also used the platform to strengthen cultural connections. Gilbert Laudat and Sandra of the Dominica–Antigua Association encouraged Antiguans to visit Dominica and highlighted ongoing cultural initiatives in Antigua, including Creole in the Park and the upcoming Miss Wob Pageant.

Organizers thanked Antiguan media and partners for their support and paid special tribute to Dominicans living in Antigua for their continued role in promoting Dominican culture abroad.
Mas Domnik 2026 is being promoted as a signature regional Carnival experience, with organizers urging travelers to take advantage of early planning and discounted airfares.

It’s a great product
Dominica doesn’t try to compete with bigger carnivals, and that’s actually its strength. It offers something different.
Dominica carnival isn’t about hype, it’s about culture, and that’s what I appreciate.
Carnival season never really ends in the Caribbean. But we love it!!
