NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC RESTART OF DERELICT VEHICLE REMOVAL AND COMMUNITY RODENT BAITING

The Collaboration will have several agencies to include Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force (ABDF), Traffic Police, Central Board of Health (CBH), Ministry of Works, and Community Division.

Prior to the start date CBH will start baiting for rodents from Grid 1 which spans Dickenson Bay Street across to Fort Road down to Fort James.

This program is part of our ongoing effort to maintain the safety, cleanliness, and aesthetic of our communities. Derelict or abandoned vehicles not only pose safety hazards but also detract from the visual appearance of our neighborhoods.

According to the Litter Control and Prevention Ac, No. 3 of 2019, Section 13 (1), it states that “Where any derelict vehicle is left in any public place in such circumstances as to cause, contribute to or tend to the defacement of the environment by reason of the presence of such derelict vehicle, the local authority may give notice to the owner or last known owner of the derelict vehicle requiring him to remove the derelict vehicle from the public place within twenty-four hours of such notice.”

What You Need to Know:

  • Vehicles considered derelict may include those that are inoperable, unregistered, abandoned on public property, or pose a public safety risk.
  • Property owners are responsible for ensuring that any derelict vehicles on their property are removed or properly secured.

We encourage residents to report derelict vehicles by contacting the NSWMA at 562-2019 or Traffic Reserve at 764-2001.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe and clean.

Love where you live!

  1. Bla, Bla, Bla, tired hear about this just talk, talk, talk. Time for damn positive action by putting the bite in your bark. Come out to Bolans and remove the two old Nissan off the road that leads to the Orchard Supermarket. They were marked for removal before and they are still there

  2. The people in the country have no respect for any notice coming from National Solid Waste because you all have said this many times and still allow certain people to do as they please. The friend and company thing and those with connection

  3. Bullshit…. All they ever do is come and mark the cars… They never come back to haul them away. There is a car on my street that’s been marked twice.. 2015 they marked it and left it then they came back in 2019 and marked it again.. Its 2025 and the car is still there. Waste of time and money.

  4. @ aSon
Totally in agreement with you, the 2 Nissans in Bolans have been marked for removal before and they are still there. The youg thug who owns them says nobody can interfere with them, maybe because he voted for the over inflated windbag
