  1. Everyone who has a smart phone or device with an email are vulnerable to scams. You’re only a victim if you are scammed.

  2. My concern is, the deputy commissioner of police got scam via message.
You mean to tell not even a proper article on what really transpire to assist the public. They can’t be this vague or he’s just embarrassed to outlined what transpired I details

  3. The scammer will call your phone via WhatsApp, send you a code then ask you to read it back to them. The moment you give them that code it’s game over. They take over your WhatsApp immediately. If anyone has ever tried to recover a password they’ll understand the concept.
So the bottom line is, don’t answer calls you don’t know especially if it’s from an international area code. If you choose to answer do not follow any instructions they give you. NO MATTER WHAT.

  4. This happened to me after I saw it on the news. The second I told the person that “It was all over the news so I know what you are doing”, they hung up.

I wouldn’t have answered but it was a Whatsapp call from a local number.

But as you said….bottom line, done give them any code and block and report the number.
