The Department of Culture’s “Creatives Among Us” project premiered on Monday Evening at the Caribbean Cinemas. The film was shown to an audience to include Minister of Education, Sports and the Creative Industries Hon. Daryll Matthew, well known artist and cultural advocate Heather Doram, local cultural celebrities Claudette ‘CP’ Peters, Keonte ‘Kid Fresh’ Willock , Dennis ‘Menace XL’ Roberts and Tanzania Tizzy’ Sebastian, featured interviewees, project stakeholders as well as other cultural practitioners and other invited guests.
The film featured interviews with Kenny Wilson, Brenda Pheonix, Yvette Williams, Samuel Hill, Denley Samuel, Edison Liburd, Joy Lawrence, Keithroy Benjamin who have been pillars in our culture, tirelessly working mostly behind the scenes to ensure that our culture remains for future generations.
The aim of this project is to capture compelling interviews of the creatives among us and creative entrepreneurs in Antigua, showcasing their unique stories and contributions to the island’s cultural and economic landscape. The feature film “The Creatives Among Us” aims to spotlight these unsung individuals and bring their contributions to a broader audience
The film will then be made available for public viewing on the department’s social media pages “Department of Culture Antigua Barbuda”.
