The murder trial of Delano Forbes, accused of killing four men in Antigua between 2017 and 2018, is set to begin on 18 July—seven years after the first alleged offence.

Forbes, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges, is accused of murdering Wilfred “Bongo” Williams, Shawn Henry, Lisue Williams and Maurison Thomas in separate incidents across Swetes, Point and All Saints.

The case drew national attention due to reports that bottles containing suspected human blood were found near Forbes’ home, leading to widespread speculation and the nickname “vampire killer”.

In 2022, the trial was delayed when questions arose over Forbes’ mental fitness.

However, a psychiatric report found he was capable of standing trial, despite showing signs of anti-social personality disorder.

The long-awaited proceedings will now move forward in the High Court.
