The official langiage of Ghana is English. While there are several indigenous tongues, the official language used by the government and in school is ENGLISH! Pearl made a fool of herself and is trying to save face. We all watch the news so she knows damn well what is going on globally and why the Cuban staff had to go. Trump has made it clear that might is right and this hemisphere is his. He want Cuba to be done with just like Venezuela. His legacy will be the destruction of communism in the region. Neither ABLP nor UPP has the power to stand against the US. If Harold Lovell was Prime Minister the issue would be the same. Gaston Browne did not create this issue. The people who voted for a convicted felon with a God complex did. We are just along for the ride. Maybe Pearl is trying to day that Trinidad did the right thing.

Dear Pearl, you really need to do your homework before speaking at a rally. The video doesn’t lie and everyone can hear what you said. Trying to double down on what you claimed to have said just makes you look foolish. You should have admitted that you made a mistake and moved on.
This kind of blame game and misrepresentation damages you and your party. You have to do better if you want those of us sitting on the fence to support you.

Even if her statements were not intended to be offensive, they still did not reflect professionalism in dismissing people by saying “whatever they speak.” Such language suggests a lack of research, preparation, and sensitivity before addressing a public forum. It also shows little regard for basic human decency. Given her position within the nation, this reflects poorly on her office and sets an unfortunate example.
A public apology would have sufficed.

Ghanian speak numerous languages, not all speak English. I speak to Ghanians nearly everyday, some pretty good English. Others not so good and others no English at all.
But everyone of them speak money.

How many prominent positions in Antigua, outside of a few government jobs,that are filled by Antiguan’s? I’ll wait.

Antiguan’s need their island back, or at least a say in their culture and affairs.
