Dear Hon. Kelvin Simon,
I believe it’s crucial to address the facts accurately. The Pump House Bridge was constructed properly with the right materials. Unfortunately, a vehicle collided with the bridge, causing significant damage. Senator Dwayne George and his team promptly stepped in to repair it, ensuring the safety of the community. Accidents happen, and the repairs were necessary to restore the bridge for public use.
The ongoing back-and-forth between you and Senator Dwayne is starting to shift the focus from solving problems to assigning blame. As constituents, we expect our leaders to prioritize action and solutions, not engage in political point-scoring. We need our leaders working together to ensure our community gets the infrastructure and services it deserves.
Regarding your concerns about the construction costs, we all understand the taxes we pay, and we expect them to be used responsibly. However, it’s time to move beyond complaints and focus on tangible progress for the people.
As the elected MP for St. Mary’s South, you are entrusted with funds every month to assist the community. It’s essential to focus on the needs of the people you represent rather than pointing fingers at Senator Dwayne George. Both you and Senator Dwayne should be working together for the people of SMS.
Hon. Kelvin Simon, it’s time to focus on working for the people. Senator Dwayne George, please continue your efforts to serve the community and focus on progress.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Constituent

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
So Antigua News Room vets comments and those it finds unfavorable and uncomplenantary for the cabal are deleted. That’s what journalisn has come to in Antigua!!!!!
Do journalist take an oath to report accurately and impartiality the issues, concerns, people’s and joys no matter who feels one way over the other in the process?
The bridge to my mind was badly constructed, it could have been widened but it was a rush job for the election, asking politicians from different parties to work together in Antigua is near impossible especially someone like Dwayne the guy is too proud of himself. I also think we need cameras so when anyone damages government property they should pay to have it fixed
Judgement, ego and conscience should never be clouded, deflated nor inflated by political colors. However for some of us we fail to see the good in others and their actions because of political colors.
I found this concerned citizen very myopic.
Firstly you are of the opinion that the Pump House Bridge was properly constructed and with the right material. Can you please point me to anywhere around the world where guard rails on a bridge have been made using fencing pipes? Thoose pipes cannot withstand the weight of a goat scratching itself against insects bites. If a pedal cyclist loses control of his bicycle and is hoping that the pipe railings would stop him from going overboard I am truly sorry for him. He will end up in the gully bruised and batteredand lucky to have survived. If the railings could not stop a pedal cyclist tell me how it is the right material to prevent a motor vehicle from going overboard.
Are you aware of the quantum that elected parliamentarians receive as constituency allowance? I get the distinct feeling that you approached the MP for some assistance and he refused and that is like a sore in your heart. The amount given as constituency allowance cannot pay a laborer for a week. It is not enough. So take your eyes and greed off it. It is intended to help a needed person who your government is victimizing because of his/her support for the MP. It is not meant to buy you airline ticket to go to splurge on labor day in America.
I have always heard that laboRAT have very short memory and I am beginning to so believe. Have you forgotten that the prime minister told parliamentarians, constituents and the nation that those who rejected his government should run to the back of the line? That includes the constituency of St Marys South. Do not expect to see your government doing anything to improve the lives of the people of that constituency. The MP will continue to agitate for better standard of living and conditions for you and everyone in the constituency. However as stated before nothing with be done because the majority of the constituency sent a clear message to the prime minister twice that they do not want his government. Any work you see being done in the constituency is being done as bribery. It is intended to get your vote. Have you forgotten that since the by-election no work has been done on the roads in Bolans? West Palm Beach has remained the same since the defeat of Dwayen George. If your brain is still alive you will remember that the prime minister told Barbudans that he spent tax dollars in Barbuda to get their votes. However they rejected him and that was over. Nothing would be done in Barbuda. He has kept true to his world. Any development in Barbdua is being done by private developers.
Finally you admonish Dwayne George to focus on serving the comminuty and on progress and the MP to focus in serving the people. Isn’t that what the MP has been doing? What sort of wrok are you asking him to focus on? Any work in the constituency has to receive the blessings of the government. It is the MP who has been relentless in getting the lights in the Urlings Basketball court. It is the MP who has been reciferous in his advocacy for the upgrade of the Bolans playing field. The MP will do much more if you and other like you do not try to thwart his efforts. Join him and let the government give the constituency it’s fair share. We all pay taxes!!!!!!!
