Daytime Armed Robbery Leaves Browne’s Avenue Man Injured and $600 Short

REAL NEWS – Investigations into a recent report of the assault and robbery of a Browne’s Avenue man are continuing.

The man reportedly was attacked during the late-morning hours, at about 11 a.m., by two armed masked men.

It was the victim’s neighbour who notified the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) about the incident.

Reports say the Belmont man was with the victim at his residence when two men, with yellow and gray shirts over their faces, entered the home.

The intruders reportedly were carrying a cutlass and a hammer and attacked the victim, chopping him multiple times in the head.

They also stole $600 from him.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre after being stabilized by emergency medical technicians.

A search for the two suspects proved futile.

There are several Antiguas . There is the Antigua where the poor people are catching hells and violence and crime prevails. There is the Antigua where some businesses are doing well due to their good management structure or simply the hard work put in by the owners and families etc.
There is the Antigua that if you do not back the party in power and especially if you are vocal or oppose to corruption you suck salt. There are also a great number of Antiguans that facilitate corruption by blindly supporting a political party. I have seen this happen under both political parties. More so under ABLP since they have
been in government most of the times.
Our government ministers are greedy and corrupt and while this country infrastructure is in decay, they are becoming millionaires and billionaires. Then there are businesses and gains from playing politics. They also work in tandem with the politicians and rip off our treasury- Cool and Baba . I also see a trend of people jumping political ships and are placed in high paying jobs , boards and adds to the ripping off of Antiguan’s economy.
This is going to come back and haunt everyone. Yes the crime and violence that is in the poor getto will reach you in some way or form. I guess some of you will leave Antigua with your large account- karma will get you. You might think living in a gated community , with security camera etc- you too will be faced directly will get your share of direct criminal attacks. However, indirectly- you go to the hospital on emergency and the gang war victim comes on the ambulance with bullet wounds. You, your mother and your children will have to wait. Of course you have the money to go to DR. John Hospital that is when it is finished.
I am calling on the people of this country to awake and take back this country before it decays any further. Hey the nakedness in the just concluded Carnival is testimony of how far Antigua gone. No morals!
