A daughter of slain Parham man, Urcil Martin said her family doesn’t want his killer walking the streets.
Elton Charles, who will be sentenced later today, chopped Martin to death with a cutlass at the victim’s home in May of 2015.
Martin’s wife jumped through a window to escape Charles, who had also swung the weapon at her.
The victim’s daughter, Tralejah Martin told state media she hopes Charles, who pleaded guilty to the murder, is never released from prison.
“I just hope I’ll never see him anywhere again even if it’s when I’m older”, she said.
The daughter, who testified on the first day of the sentencing hearing said “I just pray that the same absence of mercy that he expressed when he killed my father… I just pray that [today] the same absence of mercy that he had is in the courtroom.”
She said the incident had a profound impact on her family and “because it happened at our house we just, we had to relocate”.

May Justice be swift and just. An eye for and eye. A life for a life. We should not condone these senseless killings in our country. I wonder a clear case like this has taken so long in our court system. That must be very painful and stressful for the entire family, Justice delayed is like Justice denied.
Hang him high. And don’t let the prison boss come and tell us after some years what a good prisoner he is and ask for clemency for him and give him all sorts of perks. Tht cannot work for this type of criminals.
