Damani Tabor Appointed Communications Specialist in Ministry of Works
Former United Progressive Party (UPP) Senator Damani Tabor has been appointed as the new Communications Specialist within the Ministry of Works.
The announcement was made by Director General of Communications in the Prime Minister’s Office, Maurice Merchant, during Wednesday’s Post-Cabinet Press Briefing.
Merchant explained that Cabinet had considered the need to strengthen communication both within the Ministry of Works and between its partner agencies, as well as with the general public. As a result, Cabinet approved Tabor’s appointment with immediate effect.
“He will be working with the Ministry of Works in the field of communication. Cabinet approved that immediately,” Merchant stated.
In other updates, Works Minister Maria Browne briefed Cabinet on ongoing road rehabilitation and construction projects. She reported that work is progressing steadily and should gain further momentum with the return to full operations at the hot mix plant.

All these comments though. Plenty people bitter. Plenty people also think, if you from UPP and you get employment by ABLP that you are a hypocrite or you have no loyalty. We are ALL one nation. Regardless of your political affiliation, we are ALL Antiguans and deserve the chance to live and work here. Stop de crying man. All the comments from all the UPP supporters are just hypocrisy. There are many people that have change political sides in Antigua including the Gisele Issac the chair of the UPP. The political ideology of the Parties in Antigua is not very different. People criticize a party today and join the same party they criticize next week. What the HELL as POMPEY would say. We need more maturity in our politics. So Tabor used to criticize the ABLP when he was PRO of the UPP. He has left the UPP because of whatever differences he had with the chair or whoever. What the HELL turns on that now. He has immense abilities and the government wants to use his abilities. What the HELL is wrong with that.
I’m glad that some of you ABLP supporters are missing my amazing input. Praise indeed!
Not really much to add to the positive UPP supporters comments, but only to highlight the lack of integrity by some former UPP members. I’ve had many opportunities in life to make money by compromising my beliefs, whether it be at work by going against company or corporate guidelines; or when I got involved in stocks and shares, I would never purchase anything that involved munitions; arms or even bitcoin; and when I realised that Gaston Browne and the ABLP didn’t keep their manifesto promises a decade or so ago, I didn’t want anything more to do with them.
Hell, I don’t hold anything against Tabor because many UPP members were targeted by Browne and his cohorts, and they succumbed to greed and avarice. Simple!
IT’S A HUMAN TRAIT …
The only defection that still rankles with many of the UPP electorate was Anthony ‘Judas’ Smith’s one, when he stood as a candidate in All Saints knowing that behind the scenes he was always going over to join the ABLP.
Now that’s the real travesty and a lack of integrity.
