SOURCE: RJR – The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) says regional examinations will be administered as scheduled.
The council says this decision follows consultations Thursday morning with Ministries of Education across the region.
On Wednesday, it was reported that thieves broke into St. James High School and made off with a number of items, including the principal’s laptop and a fireproof cabinet containing CSEC exam papers.
The papers included those for examinations to be administered this week.
But CXC says there has been no confirmation that the secured fire-proof cabinet containing examination papers, which was stolen from the school has been compromised.
It adds that as the police continue their investigations in Jamaica, CXC and ministry officials from across the region will continue to monitor the security of the regional examinations.

Another failing Caribbean institution. A fireproof cabinet is not a safe. It being fire proof don’t mean it cannot be easily opened.
Just because these CSEC exam papers have not shown up on the streets of Kingston and Mandeville does not mean they are not being widely distributed inter island.
