Customs brokers Rowan Matthew and Foston George have reached a crucial juncture in their legal troubles, with the final court matter now underway.

Accused of multiple instances of fraud related to the Customs and Excise Department, the duo faces charges progressing to the High Court at various dates this year.

Recently, new accusations emerged, spanning electronic forgery, cheating public revenue, and obtaining money by false pretense.

The allegations mirror previous cases, involving the exploitation of duty-free concession codes to evade taxes and redirect funds.

The latest charges claim they obtained approximately $83,000 since 2017.

The Magistrate’s Court formally committed the matter, scheduled to proceed to the January 2024 assizes.
