Cruise Season Soars: Over 11,000 Visitors Kick Off December with 40,000 Expected This Week

December began with a bustling day for Antigua and Barbuda’s cruise industry as over 11,000 visitors arrived on Sunday. Five cruise ships docked at St. John’s Harbour, while Barbuda welcomed the Star Flyer.

The Arvia, making its second seasonal visit, brought 5,219 passengers, followed by Carnival Venezia with 4,062, Oceania’s Vista with 956, Viking Sea with 502, and Explorer 2 with 372. In Barbuda, 145 passengers from the Star Flyer enjoyed the serene island.

Local businesses and taxis thrived, serving a total of 11,256 guests on the first day alone. With 40,000 visitors expected throughout the week, the cruise season has started on a high note, promising a vibrant boost to the local economy.
