The COVID-19 mobile vaccination unit continues its island-wide coverage this week. In recognition of the need to bring the vaccination service to persons within their communities, the Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment is expanding its mobile unit programme to other parts of the country.

For three days, Thursday, 6th May, Friday, 7th May, and Saturday, 8th May 2021 the mobile vaccination events will be at strategic locations.

On Thursday, 6th May the mobile unit will be in the Woods Center Parking lot, in the vicinity of Scotia Bank Woods Centre Branch, from 8 am to 3 pm. On Friday, 7th May, the mobile team will then move to the Falmouth area in the Bailey’s Supermarket Parking Lot from 8 am to 3 pm.

Closing off the week, the mobile team will move to the north of the island as they roll out at the Cedar Grove Playing Field from 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday, 8th May.

These three mobile COVID-19 vaccination events will allow citizens and residents to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, particularly those with transportation issues and those who are unable to access the established vaccination centers during the 9:00am to 5:00pm opening hours.

Minister of Health, Wellness, and the Environment Sir Molwyn Joseph reiterated that it is important to bring the COVID-19 vaccination programme into the community and the familiar spaces of the people to facilitate ease of access to the vaccines.

The Vaccine Centers, located at the Glanvilles and Villa Polyclinics, the Precision Center in Paynters and the Multipurpose Cultural Center at Perry Bay will continue with normal opening hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
