Several Costpro employees in Antigua and Barbuda have taken industrial action, with staff seen protesting outside the company’s premises.

While the reason for the strike remains unclear, management has described the issue as a “sensitive matter” and declined to comment further.

  1. In my humble opinion, I’ve been on this island for 28 years. I’m not saying this is the case, but the employees here make you feel like your money and time are worthless. You walk into a store and they treat you like you’re asking for favors. And that greatly affects business, and I think it’s one of the main reasons why many businesses go under.

  2. Imho CostPro has some of the pleasant employees among supermarkets on the island. They have a good selection of international products at reasonable prices. Their size and layout are perfect. However, I don’t shop there often because they are a little out of my way and they don’t carry a lot of local and regional products. I like to buy Caribbean products because that helps with food security and providing jobs to workers in the local economy. Perhaps CostPro should open additional outlets in other communities and also stock more Caribbean products in addition to their well-selected, well-priced international products if they are having issues retaining customers.

  3. The employees ARE PLEASANT!!! it’s management that sucks!!!

Imagine customers can’t use their Loyalty Points whenever they choose to. It is management that DICTATES when a customer can redeem their points

  4. Common sense after all..the unions and patrons want the same result…poor costumers services providers are the worst (if the known vultures protect them).

  5. I believe poor customer service will take plenty businesses under. These assholes seems to forget that it is the customers that pays their salary. I can recalled one time at PerryBay Supermarket an elderly gentleman asked the young lady at the Deli if they are ready to serve lunch and she refused to answer, mumbling to herself about the guy should know when they ready to serve lunch. She did not even take into consideration that when people get old they need more assistance and they don’t keep track of time like that.
