Kerissa Allen, a corrections officer from Liberta, is facing charges for allegedly attempting to smuggle money to a prisoner, marking a serious breach of prison protocols.
The incident reportedly occurred on December 4, though the amount of money involved remains undisclosed.
Allen, represented by Attorney Lawrence Daniel, appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel and was granted bail of $2,500, including a $500 cash component.
Her bail conditions include surrendering travel documents, providing two sureties, and twice-weekly police station reporting. She is scheduled to reappear in court on January 13, 2025, before Magistrate Dexter Wason.

That’s nothing new under the sun lady you just happened to have gotten caught hope they don’t use you as an example..a pity for you to lose your job.
Exactly, hope they will also catch the officers trafficking at the female division and the male officers doing the very same in the main yard. What happen to those female and male officers that drink alcohol on the compound that’s not a punishable offense too. Not excusing the female officer’s offense because we all must be accountable for our actions but by gollythe powers that be must act and be seen to be acting fairly without favoritism or biases across the board.
The pregnancy matter has been fully investigated yet? The abuse of power by the senior officer and others, have it been addressed to date?
What goes for one must go for all. As Buju say ‘thief no love fi see tief wid long bag’. A wonder who ratted on the officer? Hmmmmm
When she took the job she knew the policy and rules it’s straight forward and if you break the law there is consequences she had to give it some thought and she took the risk and get caught. So no body made you do it or put a gun to your head you got caught end of story .
