Container with pharmaceuticals seized

A container of pharmaceuticals and other contraband has been seized at the harbour, according to reports.

The Public Relations Officer of the Customs and Excise Department Randy Baltimore is quoted as saying the container arrived on July 31 and upon examining the officer found illegal items among the food items.

He revealed that none of the items in the 20ft refrigerated container had the required import licenses.

 The meat products were seized and destroyed. The other items were taken to the relevant authorities.

The rodenticides, pesticides and herbicides were hidden among food items

Investigations are ongoing.
