Injured Officer Undergoes Amputation as Police Hunt Nightclub Shooting Suspects
A police officer who was shot multiple times while responding to an incident at a nightclub on Potter’s Main Road has undergone a leg amputation.
Constable Travon Giddings was critically injured in the May 26 shooting and remains in recovery at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
Authorities say the suspects—still at large—are armed and dangerous, and have urged them to surrender immediately at the nearest police station.
The public is also being asked to assist in the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913/3914 or submit anonymous tips via Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
Police say Giddings faces a long and difficult road to recovery.

If that’s what it takes to save his life, then so be it.
Some of us need to do the same spiritually:
“And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”
So very sad…..this is heartbreaking to read.
he still has LIFE!!!! Plenty people with all their limbs in tact are 6ft under. GIVE THANKS!
I really wish Yall would atleast spell his name right. TREVON, NOT TRAVON!!!
What happens now? I guess they won’t ever find the suspects but what happens to the officer and his family
The respect for police in this country has gone wild. I mean, how can you shoot an officer, heard its and officer and refuse to turn in yourself. Now the man is without a leg.
he was at a JAMAICAN party. What else you expect?
No he was not. He was providing private security for a Jamaican party at a club in Potters.
Such a cool guy! This is just so sad. I hope the government will be taking care of him going forward. He was injured in the line of duty
When caught these people should be punished severely and I mean se
it’s a sad situation and i wish him all the best although my experiences with him have not been pleasant he’s arrogant and wants to f*ck every woman he comes in contact with. I hope they find the shooter smh.
Unfortunately the police/govt probably are not responsible for his future welfare as the article states ‘ he was providing private security ‘, suggesting he was not an on-duty police officer.
If private security firms do not have full insurance for all their workers, full time, part-time or contract, this sad incident should be the catalyst for the Labour Minister to push for regulatory change fast.

If he can use a prosthetic leg I guess he can get a desk, computer and filing cabinet to continue his career as a Police. He will be exempted from he more physically demanding task…Really unfortunate but hey the lord is giving him another chance regardless and I wish him all the best…
It is very possible that his leg could have been saved in the USA. I know of two male and a female that was about to get there foot amputated flew to the US and saved their leg. One is a motor cycle accident victim, the other two are diabetics.
This is so sad, praying for his mental health, knowing this is not easy for the officer as well. I am also praying for all the negative comments to be of no effect on his outlook on life. As a people we need to empathetic because words can do plenty damages.
