Congrats to Amiah Henry: Canadian Citizen with Antiguan and Barbudan Heritage Earns Law Degree and MBA

SOURCE: POINTE EXPRESS –A Canadian citizen, originally from Antigua and Barbuda, has achieved remarkable academic success by completing dual degrees from a university in the United States.

Amiah Henry, daughter of Avery and Constance Henry, graduated from Roger Williams University (RWU) in Rhode Island, USA, on May 19, 2023.

She obtained a Master of Business Administration with Honors and a Juris Doctor, making her a qualified lawyer. Amiah’s educational journey began at Sunnyside Tutorial School, where she actively represented the institution in various capacities during her formative years.

This experience laid a strong foundation that she continued to build upon during her higher education. In 2022, she also had the opportunity to intern at the Antigua & Barbuda Department of Marine Services & Merchant Shipping, further enriching her professional growth.

Amiah’s outstanding achievements at RWU have been recognized with several accolades, including the CALI award for UN international treaty laws and practices, the 2023 Public Interest Award, and the NOAA award from the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Association.

Additionally, she served as the Secretary and President of the RWU Black Law Student Association for the 2022/23 term, leading her team to win the prestigious RWU Club of the Year 2022/2023 award.

Although Amiah was born in Canada, her upbringing and primary education took place in Antigua and Barbuda. Her accomplishment in obtaining dual degrees demonstrates her dedication and commitment to academic excellence, garnering praise and congratulations from her family and friends.
