SOURCE: CARIBBEAN JOURNAL: Europe remains one of the most important source markets for Caribbean travel. And now one of the continent’s most popular routes is resuming for the winter season, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The Frankfurt-Antigua route on Condor Airlines is set to resume on Nov. 5, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority confirmed to Caribbean Journal.
That flight runs weekly between Frankfurt and Antigua, and it’s important for several markets beyond Germany, according to ABTA CEO Colin C. James.
“This connection is beneficial to the European market, including Italy, offering convenient same day connections from various northern Italian cities, making travel to Antigua and Barbuda easier,” James said this week at a top tourism conference in Rimini, Italy.
James said Condor confirmed that a “high percentage of these flights are passengers connecting from Italy.”
The news comes as Antigua and Barbuda to continues to post some of the highest tourism growth numbers in the wider Caribbean.
Through August, the twin-island destination recorded a 16.74 percent increase in arrivals compared to the same period in 2023, with a total of 229,275 visitors.
That included 18.48 percent growth from Italy.
