Shirley Botchwey met with Gaston Browne to review preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled for November in Antigua and Barbuda.

Botchwey, who serves as Commonwealth Secretary-General, described the discussions as “highly productive,” noting that Browne will assume the role of Commonwealth Chair-in-Office when Antigua and Barbuda hosts the summit.

The meeting focused on readiness for the high-level gathering in St. John’s, where leaders from across the Commonwealth are expected to convene to address shared priorities and global challenges.

“We look forward to a truly consequential #CHOGM2026,” Botchwey said.

The two leaders met on the margins of the ongoing CARICOM Heads Summit in St. Kitts.
