CMC Line Staff Secure 10% Wage Increase Under New Agreement with AT&LU
Officials from the Antigua and Barbuda Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU) and the Management of Central Marketing Corporation (CMC) met on Friday, 20th June 2025, at the Office of the Antigua and Barbuda Employer’s Federation to formally sign an agreement outlining terms and conditions of employment for Line Staff represented by the Union.
Under the newly signed agreement, Line Staff will benefit from a ten percent (10%) wage increase. At the time of signing, employees had already received retroactive payments associated with the increase, along with the implementation of the new wage rates.
In the first quarter of 2023, Line Staff were granted a six percent (6%) wage increase for the period 2019–2021. Despite delays in negotiations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the AT&LU successfully secured retroactive increases for that period.
The latest ten percent (10%) increase now covers the period 2022–2024, marking another milestone in the ongoing collaboration between the AT&LU and CMC management to improve conditions for workers.

Big win for the workers—10% raise shows hard work pays off!
Me proud to see labour unions standing up for staff rights.
A wage increase always good—helps families cover real living costs.
Me hope this raise brings some peace to their home finances.
10% better than nothing—still progress, me support it.
Everyone deserves a fair wage—CMC made a right call.
Well well well!!!
Antiguans are really uneducated.
10% raise and everyone is dancing.
Do they understand figures?
A worker who makes $500.00 per week will now make $550.00.
The extra $50.00 will attract a collective 10% for Social Security, Medical Benefits and Education Levy.
That in actual figures is $5.00
So the worker who got the $500.00 per week will now be taking home just $545.00.
What can that do considering the rapidly increasing cost of living??
The unions are being disengeniousness when they speak of percentages and not giving us real figures.
And let it be known that’s over a two years period.
So in essence the workers get an increase of 5% per year.
My People, please stand up for something.do not put politics and politicians before your personal needs, gains, interest and future.
$45.00 is what the politicians spend every two days on their pet food.
Tek dat Prime Minister Browne!
10%, not too bad!
The AT & LU are very much looking out for their members. The same way you look after your ABLP cabinet members this great union wants better pay and conditions for hardworking Antiguans.
I hope that the other unions follow suit ✊🏾
