Cleric urges vigilance after second attempted break-in in Vernons

A local pastor has called for heightened security and community engagement following a second attempted break-in at his Vernons home.

Reverend Dr Amos Nkrumah, of the Pentecost International Worship Centre, said the incident occurred in the early hours of 4 September. “I heard a noise at the entrance and saw a man trying to break down the front door. I shouted, and he ran off,” he told police.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed three masked individuals attempting to enter the property and damaging security lights and cameras. Police were called at around 5 a.m., and patrols in the area have since increased.

Reverend Nkrumah urged residents to focus not only on physical security but also on spiritual and moral renewal. “A true change begins from within, through salvation and a transformed heart,” he said.

No injuries were reported, and nothing was stolen. Authorities continue to investigate.

  1. Was robbery their primary motive or something else since they were armed? Whatever it might be, it’s wrong and needs to stop.

  2. WHAT THE HELL…! …ATTACKING SANCTUARIES: …AND DWELLINGS: …SPREAD THE GOSPEL

It shall be remembered that ‘Him’ who ran away, lives to ‘…FIGHT ANOTHER DAY.’

In this case, not sure what the ‘…REVEREND SHOUTED,’ but he shall remember that ‘HIM’ that ran away, lives to return to ‘…BREAK ANOTHER DAY.’

Well, ‘…REVEREND, DR. AMOS NKHRUMAH,’ may be, the time has come to:

    (i) ‘…TAKE OFF THE ‘…HOLY GOWN:

(ii) …LAY ASIDE THE HOLY BIBLE: and

(iii) …PREACH AND SPREAD THE GOSPEL,’ another way.

  3. Hopefully after the umpteenth request to Prime Minister Browne by the citizens of this great country, he’ll finally address us as to what the ABLP are going to do to resolve this growing INGRAVESCENT menace to our society, especially as we now have a TEMPORARY Police Commissioner in place who doesn’t know whether he’s staying or going.

STEP UP NAH GASTON, STEP UP …

Or Antiguans will think that you only listen to lobbyists and those who run “think tanks” with their own vested interests and not the country’s.

  4. Reverend Nkrumah, this is GANGSTERS PARADISE we need more than prayers, removing the Gangsters going to their high offices in jacket and ties daily those that make and break the law should be our first priority

  5. All criminals are now fully armed. We got to help ourselves and realized that no police, legal system or government is going to help us. Set up your home as a military fortress. YouTube has videos on how to do this cheaply.

  6. The government should get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all existing streetlights system and help the police solve crime.
