The leadership of The UWI Five Islands Campus in consultation with the Vice-Chancellor and other authorities in responding to today’s announcement by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has taken the decision to suspend all classes from tomorrow, Monday, March 16 until Friday, March 27.
Correspondingly, the Campus will also implement a system of reduced business operations, for the same period, in alignment with its emergency response plan.
Heads of Departments will put plans to facilitate the continuity of business operations into activation as required. Recognising that certain essential service areas have to remain fully operational, systems will also be effected in these specific areas, with skeletal staff on rotation.
Team members who must be on campus are asked to observe all instituted protocols.
As it continues to monitor all COVID-19 developments, the University and Campus leadership teams implore all members of our community to remain calm and continue to follow the recommended practices and protocols to safeguard health and well-being.
