Clarke’s Hill Resident Shot and Wounded

A 29-year-old Clarke’s Hill resident became the victim of a shooting incident late Tuesday night, raising concerns among the local community.

 

The victim, whose identity remains protected, reported to law enforcement that he was ambushed by an unidentified gunman as he was entering his own property.

 

The assailant’s motives remain shrouded in mystery, leaving investigators uncertain about any potential robbery attempt.

 

During the altercation, the assailant discharged multiple rounds, striking the resident in the upper body and one of his legs.

 

Prompt response from the Emergency Medical Services ensured the injured man was promptly transported to a medical facility, although his current condition remains undisclosed.

 

Authorities are actively pursuing leads in their investigation.

  1. If this is not a call for action I don’t know what is. It is clear that there is a proliferation of illegal guns in circulation and it must be seriously addressed as these guns are being used in the escalating crime situation. Whatever we chose to call it, we must by way of legislation give the police additional tools to deal with this worrying trend. We are not accustomed to these kinds of things in Antigua.

  2. Well, the gun sellers are running legal businesses. Especially the ones that food doesn’t hit the mark for what it is, If u know what I mean.

  3. … and yet I can recall Commissioner Rodney Williams being vilified by commentators and the government (who btw, didn’t come up with any alternatives) for wanting to take drastic measures to curb the rising crime rate.

  4. Our laws need to be similar to those in middle east. It’s time for hands to be chopped off when these perpetrators are caught with illegal fire arms. Enough is enough!!
