His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams Swears in Clarence Pilgrim as Ambassador
His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams today officially swore in Clarence Pilgrim Esquire as the Ambassador for the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) and the Permanent Representative to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The ceremony, held at Government House, marked a significant moment in Antigua and Barbuda’s diplomatic efforts.
In his congratulatory message, His Excellency charged Ambassador Pilgrim, who also serves as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs, to continue his dedicated service in the diplomatic corps with a sharp focus on strengthening the nation’s ties with its regional partners through his work in the two organizations.
“Ultimately, Antigua and Barbuda’s development and interests must be represented to the best of his ability,” stated His Excellency. He emphasized the importance of Ambassador Pilgrim’s roles in the ACS and UNIDO, highlighting the critical need to foster collaboration and sustainable development within the Caribbean region.
The Association of Caribbean States is dedicated to promoting economic integration, cooperation, and concerted action among the countries of the Caribbean.
Its mission is to enhance the economic, social, and cultural development of its member states.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization aims to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development in developing countries and economies in transition. UNIDO’s work contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
