Clare Hall Clinic Temporarily Shuts Down Due to Flooding

The Clare Hall Clinic has closed temporarily due to ongoing flooding, marking the second consecutive day affected by this recurring issue.

Nurses, concerned about the clinic’s deteriorating condition, will be relocated during repairs.

Flooding has been a persistent problem at the clinic for months, with extensive water damage hindering nursing duties. Clients have been turned away, and important medical records are at risk.

This closure highlights the broader challenges faced by community clinics, including Gray’s Farm and Johnson’s Point Clinics, which have also experienced flooding.

In addition to flooding, the clinic suffers from mold and an unusable bathroom.

Vice President of the Antigua and Barbuda Nurses Association, Arlea Gregory, highlights the impact on the local community, particularly elderly individuals who struggle to access healthcare.

Urgent action is needed to repair health centers and address the demotivation among nurses.

The country is doing so good (they say) but everything is falling down and apart.

Salary/wages paid late; Court house close down, Clinics close down, Teachers had to stand up for the rights/monies and I can go on and on.

I am so glad that the Almighty God allowed for the Labour Party to win the 2023 elections.

Let them (A.L.P.) clean up their mess and then we get the rid of them.
