  1. Congratulations to all the youths who continue to show their love, interest and dedication to the pan art form and Congratulations to the winners especially the little ones of Villa Primary, they honestly got what it takes.
I’ve seen and listen this competition over the many years, but after last night, no matter what the commentators or even minister Matthew’s say, this to me was a downward turn, for I have witnessed much greater performance in the past.
In this world of pan we often compare ourselves to TnT, as a matter of fact some even say we’re on the same level, uttered by our two female commentators last evening, but ladies you have to wheel and come again. Yes we do have many talented pannist, who are musically knowledgeable and skillfully inclined to go up against anyone in TnT, but that’s as far as it goes.
These young arrangers need to at least first get some lessons and remember to keep in mind they are dealing kids, when putting their pen to paper. This is a competition viewed across the region and World, so please before putting yourself and arrangements up, how about consulting and run it through with at least one of the top gun.
Sad to say I viewed this on ABS TV and Villa was the only ban I watched throughout it’s entirety, all other performance had me skipping to the other and don’t even talk about the commentators.
Pan is not a few months out of the year thing and if you gonna compare us to others, if you notice there is always some pan event going on year round in TnT.
Most ban for the night was all over the place, trying to follow them was a difficult task, it’s my belief that a lot more Drilling was required to bring this competition to a higher standard, plus a better tuning of our pans.
This is a great art form and the enthusiasm shown by the youths is a good sign, the foundation is already built so this should be part of the curriculum in every school, all our colleges and the UNI should have a band competing in Panorama every year, every constituency should have a band on stage representing.
