China’s New Ambassador Vows to Deepen Antigua–China Partnership
China’s newly appointed ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, Her Excellency Jiang Wei, has formally taken up her post after presenting her credentials in St John’s and meeting with senior government officials on Monday.
During her remarks, Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed the strength of the bilateral relationship, saying, “Antigua and Barbuda is a good friend and a good partner of China in the Caribbean region. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China–Antigua and Barbuda relations have made significant headway thanks to the personal commitment and push of the leaders of our two countries.”
China remains one of Antigua and Barbuda’s most important development partners, contributing major support to the country’s socio-economic growth through infrastructure, technical assistance, and grant-funded projects.
Ambassador Jiang said she looks forward to further deepening what she described as a long-standing and fruitful partnership between the two nations.
