Heartfelt Condolences on the Passing of Centenarian Victoria Salma Rhodes

The Community Development and Citizens Engagement Division, under the Ministry of Social Transformation, offers its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the nation’s eldest centenarian, Victoria Salma Rhodes, who passed away today, November 28, 2024, at the age of 104.

Mrs. Rhodes, who had been residing in Liberta, was a beloved and esteemed member of the community. Her passing marks the loss of a remarkable life, one that spanned over a century, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom and resilience.

At present, Antigua and Barbuda is home to 14 living centenarians, both locally and abroad, highlighting the strength and vitality of our elder citizens.

The Ministry of Social Transformation remains dedicated to honouring the contributions of our seniors, whose experiences continue to shape our society.

We stand with Mrs. Rhodes’ family and all those who mourn her passing, and we offer our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May she rest in peace.
