The Central Board of Health (CBH) has announced its latest mosquito fogging schedule as part of the national vector control programme aimed at reducing the Aedes aegypti mosquito population, which spreads dengue, chikungunya, and Zika viruses.
The operation will take place from October 20 to 24, 2025, with fogging scheduled twice daily — at 4:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. — across several communities in Antigua.
Morning sessions (4:30 a.m.)
- Monday: Upper Gambles, Carnival Gardens, Sutherlands
- Tuesday: Clarehall, Johnsons Village
- Wednesday: Cassada Gardens
- Thursday: Cassada Gardens
- Friday: Cassada Gardens, Skerritts Pasture
Afternoon sessions (4:30 p.m.)
- Monday: Gunthorpes
- Tuesday: Bendals
- Wednesday: Cashew Hill
- Thursday: Golden Grove
- Friday: No fogging scheduled
Residents are urged to take precautions during the exercise. The CBH advises motorists to drive carefully in fogged areas and recommends that individuals with respiratory conditions remain indoors while fogging is in progress.
The Ministry is also reminding households to do their part in mosquito prevention by eliminating stagnant water, covering containers, and keeping their surroundings clean.
If rain or strong winds occur, fogging will be postponed and resumed on the next available day until all communities are covered.
