Cassada Gardens Man Charged For Stealing Coconuts and Avocados
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Saturday, 30 August 2025
The police have arrested and charged 30-year-old Anthony Joe of Cassada Gardens for stealing a quantity of coconuts and avocados from a property in Crosbies.
He is accused of stealing three (3) bunches of coconuts valued at $500 and a quantity of avocados valued at $400 from the property of an elderly man sometime between August 28th and 29th.
It is alleged he gained access to the property through several holes that were found in the perimeter fence.
Following further investgations Joe was subsequently arrested and formally charged in connection with the offence. He is expected to appear before the court sometime next week.
The Police Administration continues to remind members of the public that Praedial Larceny is a serious offence, which not only affects farmers and property owners but also undermines the nation’s agricultural sector and threatens food security.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station without delay.

People are hungry because they are friggin lazy. What is on people’s property is theirs whether they choose to let them rot or go to waste, it’s theirs. That kind of mentality gives people the right to what does not belong to them.
I hate this comment because a man had about 100 goats and the thief said in court “He just had them there going them Ames and people need meat”. What belong to people has nothing to do with another soul. That mentality is wrong.
