
The man injured after 11 thousand volts of electricity made contact with his body has had the first in a series of surgeries.
Clairmont Carrington had surgery to his back last night which family members say was successful.
He is expected to have two more surgical procedures today to his arms and buttocks.
The procedures will be conducted by a facility in Atlanta, USA where Clairmont was taken via air ambulance on Sunday. The medical ambulance cost the family US$ 28,000.
The surgeries are expected to improve Clairmont’s overall condition but family members say he would not have survived in Antigua.
He still has difficulty breathing when he walks.
The steel bender was severely injured last Thursday after being electrocuted at a work site in Buckleys. He has been in hospital since receiving treatment to burns about his body.
His wife is at his bedside in Atlanta.
