Employees of both branches of Caribbean Union bank walked off the job on Wednesday.
The employees took industrial action to voice their concerns about the bank’s handling of their quest for a salary increase.
Their bargaining agent is the Antigua and Barbuda Free Trade Union.
President Samuel James said the union is not pleased with the bank’s position, calling it unreasonable.
The union is asking for salary increases for the workers and has been in negotiations with the bank since 2018.
A meeting is scheduled for Thursday at the Labour Department to try to hammer out an agreement.

Just seems to me that common sense would dictate that you examine the current environment before making rash decisions. You can’t get blood from stone. Instead not only won’t these workers get a raise, the way things look they will soon not even have a job (Bank’s future prospects are bleak)
If Lovell can have the nerve to even entertain the thought that he could become PM, then I guess these workers aren’t so far off their rockers.
