Caribbean students to gain hands-on experience with US death penalty cases
[Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands, 16th September, 2025] Stanbrook Prudhoe, a leading Caribbean law firm specialising in complex cross-border disputes, has partnered with international legal Charity Amicus on the Stanbrook Prudhoe Bursary. Open now to candidates from the Caribbean Region, including Guyana, Belize, and Bermuda (with a preference given to indigenous Islanders), the exclusive bursary will offer one student the opportunity to undertake a three-month Amicus US General Volunteer Placement and cover associated fees.
The opportunity offers hands-on legal experience in US death penalty cases through one of Amicus’s 20 American affiliate offices, highlighting complex litigation and international justice systems.
Commenting on the bursary, Stanbrook Prudhoe co-founder Tim Prudhoe said, “Partnering with Amicus was very important to Stanbrook Prudhoe because, for over 30 years, they have dedicated themselves to fighting for justice for those facing a death sentence in the US. I was fortunate to have been an intern with Amicus myself in 1998 in Houston, Texas.
“We hope that our bursary will play a vital role in easing financial worries, while preparing Caribbean lawyers for a career in capital defence.”
The Stanbrook Prudhoe Bursary is open to applicants until Friday, 19th December 2025.
