PAX: In response to strong demand last summer and a surge of interest in this year’s Antigua Carnival and Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 cricket matches, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority has announced the addition of two special non-stop flights with Caribbean Airlines between Toronto and the twin-island nation this summer.

“More Canadians than ever are choosing Antigua and Barbuda as their go-to summer destination, and this expanded service by Caribbean Airlines directly reflects that momentum,” said Tameka Wharton, director of tourism, Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, in a statement.  “Given the strong interest we’ve seen from the Canadian market, these flights offer more convenient access for travellers looking to experience the key summer events in Antigua and Barbuda.”

The flights will operate on the following dates:

  • Departure from Toronto: July 31 | Return: August 6
  • Departure from Toronto: August 16 | Return: August 23

The special flights offer Canadian revellers and cricket fans timely and direct access to the twin-island nation, complementing the existing weekly service from Air Canada and WestJet on Sundays.

This year’s Antigua Carnival, known as the “Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival,” will take place from July 25 to August 5, drawing visitors from across the globe for two weeks of music, culture, and celebration.

In August, the island will also host matches for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 Cricketat the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, another major draw for both local and international fans.

Travellers are encouraged to book early, as demand is expected to remain high throughout the season.

  1. Perhaps if Air Canada and West Jet would send bigger planes, then maybe more people can travel AND the fares would go down.

Air Canada sending the little planes that you have to squeeze up in, no TV screens or anything and the fares are RIDICULOUS!

    Do better man
