Prime Minister Kamala has issued a strong warning about the consequences of publicly criticising the United States, pointing to recent visa restrictions imposed on Antigua and Barbuda and Dominica as cautionary examples.
Speaking on the matter of U.S. visa access, the Prime Minister said it would be hypocritical for individuals to seek entry into another country while simultaneously “badmouthing” its people and leadership. She cautioned that such behaviour could lead to serious diplomatic repercussions.
The Prime Minister noted that Antigua and Barbuda and Dominica had both experienced visa restrictions after making critical statements about the United States, describing the measures as significant cuts to visa access.
Emphasising the importance of diplomacy and strategic alliances, Prime Minister Kamala urged respect for international partners and highlighted the role of the United States as a key global power. She stated that the U.S. remains the only country with the financial resources and military assets capable of providing protection and defence at a global level.
Her comments come amid ongoing regional discussion about U.S. visa policies and the impact of diplomatic relations on Caribbean nations.
