Police and Customs Seize Cannabis at General Post Office

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Tuesday 8 July 2025
A joint drug operation conducted by Police and Customs officers resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cannabis at the General Post Office.
On Monday, 7 July, a search was conducted at the main postal facility and a brown cardboard box was found to contain three (3) vacuum-sealed packages with the controlled drug cannabis.
The box and its contents were seized and transported to Police Headquarters for further investigation. The substance was later weighed and amounted to approximately three (3) pounds, with an estimated street value of $18,000. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda remains committed to working with other partner agencies to disrupt the illegal drug trade and safeguard the wellbeing of our communities.

Seizing all the drugs but there’s no account for the guns. Tell what should I not believe.
Marijuana needs to be legalized considering it has become a main source of income for many. Government nar goo people work, sun hot but nice for growing weed, importing the good grades for seeds is better for us and if weed is indeed legalized, then the country stands to make millions…..no rather….. billions in revenue. Think about that!!!
And have you thought of the possible dangers of the weed? People are still killing people over weed money and so on! And we need less drugs that drives people like you crazy, crazy enough to make a comment like that.

Antigua is a place where a person is free to grow cannabis in their yard and smoke it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No wonder the youths are so corrupt.
The police should have left it at the Post Office and monitor the goings on to see if any windbag show up so that they could nab the bugger
