Candlelight Vigil to Protest Animal Abuse in Antigua & Barbuda

1. Please have a vigil for the people of Palestine.

I hate how these white people that live an insulated life from us in their buffer zone enclave like mill reef ,jumby bay or PLH or blue waters try to insult the black natives of this country by raising the standards of animals above us in terms of cats and dog. And have the guts to petition parliament for animals rights, it doesn’t matter the black people of this country suffering with lack of hospital facility and water, lack of medicines or pot hole in the roads or crime against elderly, forget thinking white people ever coming to their rescue they are black, but make a whale thump it’s toes on the ocean floor and white people are there crying. Pure racism and insult to not recognize any suffering of the black people who they think is bellow their pets, they are isolated from our suffering and are never Antiguans in the first place, they have citizenship to their white countries and these embassies on our island look after them so they don’t care about the country, living here under their nostalgic Jim crow system of white and black areas is utopia to them, when a black government can go to parliament and pass laws to have buffer zones to separate blacks from area for white unless they are there in capacity as maids and gardener’s, I will give the dogs placards to protest against whites to say my owners are in deeper distress than me.

6. Yes , animal abuse needs to stop ,however when you protest without accounting for the every day luxury and necessity that most people take for granted it makes it difficult for many to take this important issue seriously.
   Do you wear shoes and clothing made from leather? Which animals had to be killed for this ?
   Do you eat breakfast lunch or dinner and supper
   with eggs,meat ,I.e beef, pork,lamb chicken? From what source do you get your protein and iron from? Do fish and other marine biology produce
   have lesser rights than animals?
   How would you replace the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of professionals on the industrial careers manufacturing for production of farming machinery , tractors meat processing plants etc ? Supermarkets in towns and cities around the world, restaurants and fast food outlets all of which are part of a multi billion dollar industry worldwide. What do you replace it with? What personal sacrifice do you make to achieve you goals? Yes food poultry, fashionable clothes and accessories, agriculture and farming, manufacturing and machinery ,industry processing plants and equipment, transportation local, regional and international. A billion even trillion dollars industrial revolution
   You certainly have a lot of work to do, without overstating the obvious or being cynical. Its called reality.

8. I attended the vigil for the Africans who perished trying that ill-fated boat journey. The vigil was not supported overwhelmingly. The whole thing was politicized when human life was lost, mostly by ALP, as this band of rogues we call government, denied responsibility.
   Now there is a call for the support of a vigil for animals? I don’t support cruelty, but this is a bit much.

9. We have a pet at our home.No one could ill treat that pet without going through me.For I have the will and way to defend that pet and me.Not a joke matter.

10. This is a joke. There is no mass animal cruelty in Antigua. Many of the citizens love and cherish their pets. Yes, there are stray animals and some persons who don’t house and care for their animals as they should just as it happens on a larger scale in the US, UK, and Canada. What we need are for animal control to clean up the streets and ensure that people spay and neuter their pets, as well as keep them off the streets so an not to become pests to others. These foreigners who have been known to steal animals to sell overseas need to stop the nonsense and start living in reality. Instead of trying to induce more suffering in a country where they have been adopted, they should maybe adopt some of the stray animals since they want an animal eutopia. Until then, show me a country where there are no stray animals. One only needs to go to YouTube to debunk that myth.
